Gaurav Engineering is committed to delivering precision and quality in every product and service we offer. To maintain the highest standards in engineering manufacturing, quality assurance, and research & development, we have established a fully functional and well-equipped laboratory setup. Our laboratory plays a vital role in ensuring that all our components, machinery parts, and fabricated products meet national and international standards of performance, safety, and durability.

Overview of Laboratory Setup:

Our in-house laboratory has been strategically designed and developed to carry out essential testing, calibration, material analysis, and process validation. It is a core part of our quality control system and is staffed by trained professionals with deep expertise in engineering, testing protocols, and material science.

The laboratory is located within our main production facility, ensuring seamless coordination between production and quality inspection processes. It is divided into specific sections based on testing types – such as dimensional inspection, material testing, mechanical property testing, and surface finish analysis.

Key Laboratory Equipment:

  1. Vernier Calipers and Micrometers:
    • Used for precise measurement of components and assemblies.
    • Digital and analog models available for redundancy and comparison.
  2. Height Gauges and Surface Plates:
    • Employed for vertical dimensional inspection and surface flatness verification.
    • Granite surface plates ensure stability and accuracy.
  3. Dial Gauges and Bore Gauges:
    • Used to check internal diameters, concentricity, and roundness of machined parts.
  4. Hardness Testing Machine:
    • Rockwell and Brinell hardness testing machines to evaluate the mechanical properties of metals.
    • Enables us to ensure material durability and compliance with specifications.
  5. Tensile Testing Machine (UTM):
    • Essential for determining the tensile strength, elongation, and yield strength of raw materials and finished components.
  6. Profile Projector / Optical Comparator:
    • Enables precise inspection of complex profiles and contours.
    • Ideal for comparing parts against engineering drawings.
  7. Surface Roughness Tester:
    • Used to measure and validate surface finish parameters.
    • Helps ensure products meet the required texture and finish tolerances.
  8. Weighing Balances:
    • High-precision digital weighing machines for mass measurement of components and samples.
  9. Material Spectrometer (outsourced as required):
    • For chemical composition analysis of metals to verify material grades.
  10. Calibrated Tool Room Instruments:
    • A full range of gauges, templates, radius gauges, thread gauges, and pin gauges.
    • Regularly calibrated to ensure consistent performance.

Calibration and Standards:

All measuring and testing instruments are calibrated periodically as per ISO/IEC 17025 standards by NABL-accredited labs. Calibration records are maintained meticulously to ensure traceability and credibility of inspection results.

Environmental Controls:

Our lab is maintained under controlled environmental conditions to reduce external variables in measurement. Lighting, cleanliness, temperature, and humidity are regulated to ensure testing consistency.

Quality Inspection Workflow:

  • Incoming Inspection: All raw materials are tested for conformity before being issued to production.
  • In-process Inspection: Critical dimensions and parameters are continuously monitored during production.
  • Final Inspection: Finished goods undergo thorough testing and approval before dispatch.

Documentation and Reporting:

Every product batch is accompanied by detailed inspection reports, material test certificates (MTC), and compliance documentation. Our laboratory supports traceability and quality assurance through digital recordkeeping and reporting systems.

R&D and Product Development Support:

Our lab also supports R&D efforts by conducting trial testing, prototyping evaluations, and feasibility studies. It allows us to innovate, validate new designs, and improve existing product lines through real-time data and analysis.

Safety Measures:

We adhere to strict safety protocols in the laboratory, including use of PPE, proper handling of tools and equipment, electrical safety measures, and periodic audits to ensure the safe functioning of instruments.

Future Upgradation Plan:

As part of our continuous improvement initiative, Gaurav Engineering plans to expand our laboratory with advanced equipment such as CNC CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), 3D Scanners, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) instruments to meet the evolving needs of precision manufacturing.

Conclusion:

Our laboratory setup reflects Gaurav Engineering’s unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and precision. With advanced equipment, skilled personnel, and strict adherence to quality systems, we ensure that our customers receive products that meet or exceed their expectations. This laboratory infrastructure not only enhances our operational capability but also positions us as a reliable and quality-focused engineering enterprise in the industry.
